Here I present the tablature for one of my compositions for electric guitar. It is a quite dreamy (dreary, depressing?) solo in the key of A minor. Click here for a video of me playing it.
Lower case 'b' means play the note at the indicated fret and bend up a whole tone (2 frets worth). Upper case 'B' means play the note at the indicated fret and bend up one and half tones (3 frets worth).
The numbers above the tablature shows the fingering I employ.
For every note picked (with a plectrum) I suggest a picking direction (which may not be the same as you see on the video in places). 'u' means an upstroke and 'd' means a downstroke. If no picking direction is shown for a note, then it is to be played as a hammer-on, a pull-off, a slide, or by bending up from the previous note or releasing a bend. The fingering and bend information should make it obvious which one of these it should be.
I have not bothered to indicate vibrato or other stylistic elements such as sliding down after long notes (which I tend to do sometimes). Neither do I indicate the (accidental) pinched harmonic I got on the bend in bar 10.
The chord sequence for the backing track is (one chord per bar): Am, F, Dm, Am, Am, F, Em, G twice through then it finishes with a C major chord to lift the mood slightly at the end.
